Henrique Vieira Ribeiro (Lisbon, 1970) has a master's degree in Multimedia Art, Audiovisuals, from the Faculty of Fine Arts of the University of Lisbon, and a degree in Multimedia Art, Photography, from the same institution.
Guest lecturer at the School of Art and Design - Caldas da Rainha (2015/2016 and 2016/2017) in photography, audiovisual and multimedia design and digital design.
In 2017 she took part in the ResArt Marvão artistic residency.
In his authorial practice, his concerns stem from aspects related to the human condition, namely reflecting on the human being's need/desire for transcendence; in this respect, the object as a bearer of life, as a mnemonic testimony, plays a preponderant role.
He uses photography and video as core media, which together with drawing form his media of choice, although the final result of his works has taken on an installation character.
He is represented in several private collections in Portugal, France and England, as well as in institutions such as the Combatant Museum, Artur Bual Gallery and the 25 April Association.
He is also represented at the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation and the Figueiredo Ribeiro Collection - Abrantes Contemporary Art Centre.
